Batt Only Works If It Is Installed Correctly

Batt insulation is a proven, cost-effective option, but it only performs when it is cut to fit and installed without gaps, compression or voids. A lot of underperforming insulation is simply batt that was rushed.

We install batt to its rated performance: fitted around wiring and boxes, in full contact with the cavity, with no missed spots that leak heat.

The Right Product, Installed Properly

Batt is a good match for many walls, floors and attics, especially in new construction and open cavities. The material is affordable and effective when the fit is right.

For air sealing and tight spaces, foam may be the better tool. We are honest about when batt is the smart choice and when it is not.

We check for gaps and voids and clean up.

What Affects Batt Insulation Cost

Batt is often the most budget-friendly option. Cost depends on:

  • Area to be insulated
  • R-value and material specified
  • New construction vs retrofit
  • Access and prep
  • Removal of any old material

Batt Insulation FAQ

Is batt or spray foam better?
Neither is best for everything. Batt is cost-effective in open cavities and new construction; foam wins where air sealing and tight spaces matter. We recommend the right one for each area rather than upselling.
Why does my existing batt not seem to work?
Usually because it was compressed, has gaps, or was not fitted around wiring and boxes. Correct installation is what makes batt perform.
Can you replace old, sagging insulation?
Yes. We can remove underperforming material and install new batt fitted correctly.
What R-value do I need?
It depends on the assembly and where it is. We recommend an appropriate R-value for your project during the estimate.
How long does it take?
Most batt jobs are quick, often a single day. We confirm after seeing the scope.
